FD Global starts the distribution of the 2nd generation NextWindow 5200 ProfileTouch, an updated version of the optical multi-touch panel designed for large-format monitor applications, such as corporate, retail, conference rooms and education environments.
The new 5200 ProfileTouch supports Windows 7, Mac and Linux. It is plug-and-play: no drivers required to operate this high-performance touch screen.
This large-format touch solution supports Windows multi-touch functions, such as zoom, rotate, tap, and press-and-tap. The 5200 can be supplied as a kit of components (optical sensors, passive border and controller board) ready to be assembled on a glass substrate or a fully-assembled touch screen including glass.
Fits screens from 30” to 82” and compatible with any display technology.
What about Windows 8, you ask? We probably have more time in EMEA before we’ll have to worry about quantities of Window 8 compatible touchscreens. But NextWindow, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SMART Technologies, has already passed the requirements for Windows 8 Certification with the NextWindow DesktopTouch 6S optical touch product.
